Symone “Monie” Palmer is a DJ and music enthusiast with multiple creative facets hailing from St. Louis, MO. When she’s not performing, she spends her time balancing her freelance career as a graphic designer, photographer, and shoe customizer. She is constantly developing her musical catalog, pulling from her roots being raised on jazz and Motown and building upon this foundation through the years to create an expansive catalog that informs her evolving DJ style. Her sonic inclinations are primarily influenced by her upbringing in a very musically-influenced home, growing up with a mother who created a career in musical performance, education, and direction and a father who specialized in audio engineering and built his own studio. Her DJ name pays homage to one of her favorite female rappers to come out of the ‘90s (Monie Love), a time that she holds a special reverence for due to its cultural impact and musical significance. Having spent her college years DJing several campus parties and social group gatherings, Monie has been able to develop her sound, style, and crowd presence through recent years.
For her, it’s all about creating a vibe that the audience can connect with, balancing the popular go-to tracks of the times with a splash of the underground, the hidden gems, and the classics that we’ll never forget to create a sonic experience that keeps you engaged and ready for more.
